my artist statement: me as an artist. “I am an artist.”

A lot of my photography is lost into an abyss because I look at all the pictures and see which ones are the best. I only upload those pictures to my computer. Then I look at all the pictures on my computer and chose the best of those. I refine through my “best of” list and chose the one most striking photo and give it to Mr. strong.

My photography style is surreal and occasionally dark. I like to take pictures of things with the horizon one third of the way up from the bottom of the photo. I also like color contrast and form. When I see something particularly notable to me set in a spot that seems to be perfect I will snap a photo of it. I like to use multi-shot so I can catch things in action.

My art style in general is super dark. I like to make anything I’m working on as creepy and border line disturbing as I can get it to be, and I attempt to make everything morbid in some way. I particularly like to design robots, zombies, and weird hamster looking creatures with bulging eyeballs. One time I drew a polar bear exploding himself somehow with his intestines flailing in front of him. I am currently working on a project with my friend and drawing partner. The name of the project is classified and so is every detail about it except for that is about sausage.

In the real world I am a pretty fun person. I make my friends laugh and joke a lot because people often listen to what I have to say and I take advantage of that. I think my style of art reflects my personality because a lot of my pictures are humorous in a very dark way. Not quite black comedy but very close.

My biggest inspirations are Tim Burton, Jhonen Vasquez, Doktor A, and pappy! Other artists I like are alcove, Steven Harrington, Amanda Vissel, John Burgerman, And the amazing Huck Gee.

Bonneville awoke in his normal sideways back crunching position. He got up went through his morning procedure. After finishing his bowl of corn flakes he put on his coat and stepped out into the 25 degree December air and made his way to the bus stop.

On Bonneville’s way to the stop a chocolate salesman appeared almost out of nowhere. “Hey! Wanna buy some chocolate?” the salesman said in the least threatening tone Bonneville had heard. “Not really… sorry” Bonneville said calmly. “Nah. I think you want some chocolate.” The salesman’s words were drawn out twice the normal length of a normal human being. “Really I don’t want any chocolate. I have to go to school” Said Bonneville. “Hey!” the salesmen said, “Why don’t I just come to school with you?” Bonneville was losing his desire to stay polite. “Please just leave me alone!” He was now shouting. The salesman looked at him directly in the eye. “No.” The bus showed up and Bonneville hurried up to it because he wasn’t sure if the bus driver had seen him.

Bonneville stepped off the bus onto his school pavement. He made his way to the side entrance he normally walks into but saw the salesman waiting there. Bonneville had two questions: how did he get there so fast? And why was he not offering chocolate to the passing students? Bonneville didn’t want to run into him so he walked around the school to a different entrance. Right as he turned the corner of the school the salesman was there. “Hey buddy. You still up for some chocolate?”

“I never was…”

“I’m pretty sure you wanted some chocolate” the salesman said sure of himself. “you’re insane” Bonneville said looking at the salesman. The bell rang. “look now I’m late, get out of my way so I can go to class.” Bonneville went into the door and went to his active fitness class.

Mr. Feirceface had the kids play dodgeball. Bonneville was throwing balls around and watched one of them hit the salesman right in his chocolate bag he was awkwardly holding out in front of him. “Hey!” Bonneville yelled, “Get out of here!” Students stopped and stared at him. “Who are you talking to?” one of them asked.

“The salesman! He’s… well he’s not there anymore but he was.” Mr. Feirceface got in an argument with Bonneville and based on previous instances where Bonneville was convinced owls were staring at him, he was sent to the in school asylum.

While being escorted there the sales man followed him. “He’s there! Turn around!”

“That’s what they all say.” The security guard laughed. The salesman giggled and said, “Bonneville you want my chocolate.” Bonneville had a chill hit his chest. “I never told you my name.” The security guards dragged Bonneville into the ISA and slammed the door. He ran and looked at the door’s window and saw the salesman conversing with the security guards. “Look!” Bonneville shouted, “He is absolutely real I’m sane!” The security guards were eating chocolate now.

“Come on son, let’s take a seat and get you strapped in.” The instructor said in his crusty old man voice.

“I’m not like these kids there is really a man trying to sell me chocolate! Please, I am sane! I know it.” The instructor took Bonneville, forced him into his chair, and strapped him in, along with tightening a leather harness over his mouth so he couldn’t make noise. The chocolate salesman walked in the ISA and Bonneville began violently squirming in his harness. He sold a chocolate bar to the instructor and made his way over to Bonneville. He took out a piece of chocolate and placed it on Bonneville’s desk. “You will eat my chocolate” He said in his disturbingly sincere voice, and walked out of the room.
